The INSTRUMENT RATING INSTRUCTOR (IRI) allows you to act as a flight instructor for the IR(A) SEP rating. 

Pre-Requisites for Admission:
  • Hold a valid Commercial License (CPL(A)) with valid IR(A) rating;
  • Have carried out at least 800 hours of IFR navigation, 400 of which must have been carried out on airplanes or hold valid FI(A) Rating with 200 IFR hours carried out.
  • Be in possession of First-class mental and physical fitness certificate issued by a medical specialist in aviation medicine (AME);
Course schedule:
Total hours of theoretical instruction: 35;00 (10:00 if FI (A) holder)
Total hours of practical instruction: 10;00 (05:00 if holder of FI (A))
Theory:

Theoretical part includes the hours mentioned above, which the ATO proposes in presence to conduct the hours of theoretical instruction related to the"IR course" and to the communication process between instructor and student, as well as other topics.

Flight Program:

The flight program includes no less than 10 hours of training (5 hours in case the candidate holds FI Rating).

Scheduled Exams:

A practical examination (AOC) with ENAC Inspector once the theory has been carried out and the flight hours have been completed with success. Course Duration: The IRI course is normally conducted in about 30 days, but may vary in duration depending on the needs of the candidate.
