On Wednesday, 14 October, Cantor Air welcomed Airline Flight Academy (AFA) to the new Cantor Air Training Center. AFA is one of our partners in preparing pilots for the next stages of their professional careers.
The session was led by Killian Hanratty, Commercial Manager at AFA. He met students approaching the final stages of their training to present the opportunities offered by the Academy and discuss an important step on the path to an airline career.
The meeting gave students the chance to talk about what follows flight training, the next stages of professional development and what to expect when taking their first steps into the airline industry. Particular attention was given to the APS MCC Whitetail and Ryanair Mentored APS MCC courses, including their structure, objectives and key features, as well as the skills pilots need to move from flight school into a multi-crew operational environment.

From the classroom to selection: Andrea’s experience
Andrea R., a recent Cantor Air graduate, joined the meeting to share his first-hand experience. After completing his training at Cantor Air, he continued his professional preparation at Airline Flight Academy, attending the Ryanair Mentored APS MCC course and subsequently completing the selection process successfully.
He spoke about the transition from flight school to APS MCC, the expectations and challenges he encountered, and the preparation required for selection. For our students, hearing from someone who recently sat in the same classroom made the next steps more tangible.

Building a path beyond the licence
At Cantor Air, training a pilot means preparing them not only to earn licences and ratings, but also to understand what comes next. Meetings like this give students the chance to learn more about the next stages of their professional journey, engage directly with specialist organisations in the aviation industry and hear from people who have already taken those steps.
We would like to thank Killian Hanratty and Airline Flight Academy for their visit and continued collaboration, and Andrea R. for returning to Cantor Air to share his experience with our current students.
